Siena Heights students and alumni have lots to offer employers. Our Career Center offers employers opportunities to connect with our current students and alumni in a variety of formats. One of the most effective methods for recruiting students and alumni is for employers to develop and maintain a visible presence on campus.

Employers are encouraged to:

  • Post available jobs through our online job posting system,
  • Facilitate information sessions to offer students and alumni an in-depth look at your organization.
  • Conduct on-campus interviews for full-time and part-time positions and internships.
  • Participate in Career Center events including job fairs.

Employer participation is always welcomed; we look forward to working with you to best meet you staffing needs. We often have opportunities for employers to meet with students beyond our traditional events.

The Siena Heights University Career Services is a NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) member. Any interaction with students or alumni must be in compliance with the NACE Principles for Professional Practice

Employer Policies and Procedures

The Siena Heights University Career Services office reserves the right to deny access to students and all recruiting privileges including job postings, on-campus interviewing, information sessions and tables, and career fair attendance, to any organization. We also reserve the right to edit or delete any job posting, login accounts or other information at any time.

Commission-only employment opportunities will not be granted approval by Career Services. Employers or individuals hiring Siena Heights University students must pay a base salary in addition to any commission-based incentives.

Similarly, Career Services reserves the right to deny access to any employer offering opportunities that require students to purchase products or services upfront prior to employment. Employers offering opportunities where employees receive commission based on a “Pyramid” may be denied recruiting activities.

Career Services does not promote or post “home based” employment opportunities such as childcare or similar positions.

Also, Career Services does not approve organizations that charge a fee. Third party recruiters will not be granted access to job postings or recruiting activities.

Information Sessions

Employers are encouraged to conduct information sessions regarding their organization and any employment opportunities. Employer information sessions are expected to take place on campus and must be scheduled by contacting Career Services at 517-264-7614.

Employers may offer food and/or beverages to students attending an information session. If an employer would like to order food via campus dining services, Career Services will place the order for the employer. Alcohol is strictly prohibited from all recruiting events.

Employers are encouraged to conduct information sessions that are open to all students. If preferred, employers may conduct information sessions that are restricted to pre-selected interview candidates. Employers must also specify if restricted information sessions are required for candidates. If not specified at the time of reservation, it is assumed that the information session is open to all Siena Heights University students and alumni and that is it optional for pre-selected interview candidates.
